What we've been building, and what we've been up to.
We took Tech4Techs on the road to the NEC trade show this May, meeting garages and resellers face to face and showing the platform live on the stand. It was a genuinely useful few days — nothing beats watching someone use the diary, job sheets and invoicing in real time to understand what actually matters to a busy workshop floor. We had plenty of conversations about the upcoming Autodata-powered option too, and the response gave us real confidence that Tech4Techs AD was worth building properly rather than rushing out. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the stand, asked questions, and told us what they'd like to see next — a fair few of the ideas raised at NEC have already found their way onto our roadmap.
Our new Autodata-powered option is here — service, powertrain, chassis and electrical data organised the way technicians actually work, alongside the Tech4Techs garage management you already know. Tech4Techs AD brings a modern, API-based data integration into the same platform: service schedules and a Service Advisor checklist builder, powertrain coverage from drive belts to engine management, chassis data spanning ABS and wheel alignment, body and interior information including key programming, and a full electrical section with wiring diagrams and diagnostic trouble codes. As with all our technical data options, a Tech4Techs subscription runs on one provider at a time — so whether you choose Tech4Techs, Tech4Techs AD or ALLDATA, you're getting the same reliable garage management underneath, with the technical data that suits you best.
Garages have long paid for a management system and a separate data subscription. Here's why we built Tech4Techs to do both, in one place. We started from a simple observation: independent garages, dealerships, mobile mechanics and workshops of every size were juggling two separate costs and two separate logins — one for day-to-day admin like bookings, job sheets and invoicing, and another just to look up a wiring diagram or a service schedule. It never made sense to us that these should be treated as separate purchases. So we built Tech4Techs to bring garage management and professional technical data together under one subscription, and we've kept building on that idea ever since — most recently with the launch of Tech4Techs AD and ALLDATA, giving every customer a choice of technical data provider without ever having to manage more than one system.
